Virtual Reality (VR) is the use of computer technology to create a simulated environment. Unlike traditional user interfaces, VR places the user inside an experience. Instead of viewing a screen in front of them, users are immersed and able to interact with 3D worlds. By simulating as many senses as possible, such as vision, hearing, touch, even smell, the computer is transformed into a gatekeeper to this artificial world. It is presented to our senses in such a way that we experience it as if we were really there. Virtual reality has been adopted in education for teaching and learning situations. Students are able to interact with each other and within a three dimensional environment. Students can also be taken on virtual field trips, for example, to museums, taking tours of the solar system and going back in time to different eras. Students with special needs can also use VR technology, VR can be a motivating platform to safely practice social skills for children. I think that VR technology will be commonly used in the future and it will be very beneficial for education.
